ABOUT THE EDITORS

Lindsay Cain

A bit about me! My name is Lindsay and here at Langley Boys I am studying maths, economics and graphics, all of which I thoroughly enjoy. In two years’ time, I hope to delve into the world of fashion and for two reasons. Firstly, it is an industry that I have always been interested in because it isn’t just about the newest designs and latest trends; it discusses and acknowledges important and relevant issues faced in society, often showcasing important messages within designs and collections. Secondly, I believe the industry as a whole is a celebration of people’s hard work and creativity, something that, stereotypically, has been looked down upon when it comes to measuring success, yet is something that without, the world and society would be very boring. I hope that you enjoy what the editorial team and I upload and that you come and discuss any ideas you have about future content.

Hello! I’m Jodie, and I am part of the Blog Langley editorial team. Currently, I am studying Spanish, English Literature and Film Studies. I’m enjoying them all greatly, especially Film Studies. After sixth form, I aspire to go to University and study production and/or post production of film. As of now, I know I want to go into the film industry to be an editor for TV shows or movies. I’m inspired by all of those around me, including family, friends and members of staff to pursue the passion I have for editing. On Blog Langley, I’ll be writing about films, the school’s community cinema’s upcoming events, Spanish trips or visits and general school news. I want Blog Langley to be a place where parents, students and teachers are enlightened about the goings on in our school, and are proud to be a part of this community.

Hello, I’m Hannah and the Langley Park Blog has been born! At the moment, I am studying Media Studies, English Literature and History, I’m thoroughly enjoying all of them and I appear to have not drowned in the workload, just yet. The plan after sixth form is to hopefully go to university and aim for a career in journalism. Although I haven’t as yet plucked up the courage to create my own personal blog, I have made a slight breakthrough into the industry by contributing at City A.M. having written a few articles for the newspaper, it’s a field that I am extremely passionate about and aspire to hopefully be a part of in the future. However, on Blog Langley the team and I will be writing about school life, such as news, events and people in our school community. Also, our personal interests and topics students, parents and teachers may also be enticed by. I hope you enjoy and find Blog Langley incredibly useful, fingers crossed it’s a success!

Hello, my name is Alexandra and I am one of the editors for Blog Langley.  I am studying Drama, English Literature and Psychology and love all of them, especially Drama!  I am passionate about anything and everything to do with theatre and my love for the industry has only grown since starting secondary school.  I am also an avid reader and particularly enjoy thrillers and crime novels.  My ultimate dream is to go to drama school – fingers crossed - after finishing A-Levels at Langley, but I am also considering attending university to study English Literature.  Blog Langley will keep you up to date with school news and events, as well as topics each of the editors are interested in.  I hope you enjoy the content the team and I will be posting, and feel free to approach us with any ideas you think readers would enjoy!

I’m Thomas, a Year 12 Film and English student. I love music and film most of all, but have and always will enjoy writing, in any of its particular formats. Through this blog, I intend to hone my journalistic writing chops, with enlightening pieces addressing the toils and struggles of Langley life, or the odd conspiracy (be It on a local or global scale). It’ll be a lot of fun, if not for you, then for me.

Nieve Wiggins

Hello! My name is Nieve and I am a part of the Langley blog editorial team. I am currently studying Geography, English Literature and Psychology. So far I am immensely enjoying my studies here at Langley Boys and could not wish for a better learning environment. I know it will enable me to really excel in the subjects I have lovingly and passionately chosen to study. When my time sadly comes to an end here, I will certainly go to university although I am currently unsure which career path I would like to pursue. I am hoping that my experiences here will deepen my passion for all of my chosen subjects, meaning that, as a result, I will know where I want to continue my learning. If I had to choose a subject to pursue it would be Geography, yet I am increasingly finding a love for English literature; it has always appeared to be one of my strongest subjects due to my devotion to reading and writing. Despite being unsure, I am fully confident in knowing that I will use the skills obtained throughout my time here which will enable me to finally decide my aspirations for the future. By being a part of this cooperative team I will be up to date on current affairs which I can link to my school work and general knowledge as well as fulfilling and practicing my writing skills for the benefit of myself and the reader. I hope that you find the Langley blog as compelling as we do and hopefully it will be a success as a result!
